I start work soon. Ridiculously soon. And as my march towards my first “real job” paycheck brings me ever nearer to this impending reality, I would like to spend time pondering. For example, how nice would it be if I had a job that paid me to do crossword puzzles and read books, to go for runs and play with the dog, to sleep in and wake up just in time for The Price is Right? Why isn’t there anyone out there who pays for that? Because that’s a job that I would be really good at…

    I’ve always fantasized of a salary to go along with raising decent human beings, being on-call 24/7 in the event of a vomit eruption, and suffering the guilt-induction of not working more hours for free at the kids’ school. I guess we all have a dream! Congratulations on your job - it’s a good thing I didn’t bet Cory on that!!
